Luma is built around the event page. Guests register with a name and an email, and paid tickets run through Stripe. Every guest gets a QR code to scan at the door.

Conpeo starts at the door. A check-in counts the arrival, by location or by hand. It sells no tickets.

A contact list versus regulars

Luma's People list counts, for each contact, the events they registered for and checked in to. You can sort by either.

Conpeo turns check-ins into status. A guest earns regular status visit by visit. Conpeo also shows who came every week and then stopped.

Coupons versus codes per guest

Luma coupons discount a paid ticket: free, a percentage or an amount.

Conpeo issues a single-use code per guest, for a perk in your own Shopify shop. When a code is used, Shopify reports back the order and what it was worth.

Pricing

Luma. The free plan has unlimited events and guests. Paid tickets carry a 5% platform fee plus Stripe processing. Luma Plus costs $59 a month billed yearly, or $69 billed monthly, with a 0% platform fee. Zapier, the API and webhooks need Luma Plus. Luma states these prices in US dollars.

Conpeo. Room costs €99 a month, or €990 a year paid up front, both plus VAT. Every format is included. The Shopify add-on costs €399 a month, plus a share of the value of orders placed with its codes.

Choose Luma if

• You run one-off events, or events in several cities.
• You want a public calendar people follow, with newsletters to its followers.
• You sell memberships to your calendar, with Luma handling the billing.

Luma describes itself as "built for hosts who run events regularly". For ticketed events and a following, it is the stronger tool.
